That’s Vicki and me to the right. If it’s fun travel she’s always there with me, it helps if it’s someplace warm as well. If it’s work travel, I’ll be on my own.

We live a little ways north of Kansas City. On the Missouri side about 1/2 an hour Northeast of the airport. KCI is a great airport if it is your beginning or ending destination. If you get stuck here on a long layover it is horrible. It is perfect for me for work travel. Leaving the house an hour and a half before my flight still allows me to get to airport in time. That usually gets mo to the gate 15 minutes before they start the boarding process. I don’t recommend this for everyone. It works for me since I never check a bag and I have TSA PreCheck.

Flying out of Kansas City means I am on Southwest quite often. They seem to have the most direct flights to the places I need to go. Other airlines don’t have as many gates or the traffic that Southwest does. There are few options for food and drink if you get stuck behind security in their area due to a flight delay. Even fewer options exist in other areas of the airport. Security at KCI does not work like it does at most airports. KCI does not have one main security line for all passengers. It’s divided up in sections, per airline for the most part. Fortunately, security lines are generally pretty short. If you want to grab a bite to eat outside of security you don’t have to worry about being stuck in a long line to get to your gate. Still keep track of time though.
