Wow! Had no clue that Toronto was this big of a city. According to people from Toronto it is the 4th largest city in North America. Behind only Mexico City, New York, and Los Angeles. Wikipedia confirms here.

Got into Toronto in time to check into the hotel, drop off our bags and walk a couple blocks to the Rogers Centre to try to get tickets to the game. Fortunately they had some tickets left and we were able to get good seats in left field just past the Blue Jays bullpen. Unfortunately, that is where a couple Blue Jays home runs were placed.

Did not know that the Blue Jays left field fans hate Alex Gordon so much. All night there was a chant of “Gordoooo, Gordooooo, Gordoooo, YOU SUCK!!” among other not so friendly chants. Apparently, according to fans around us, this is an east coast AL thing for opposing left fielders. Someday I may look further into this, but I doubt it.

Heads up if you carry a pocket knife. They have metal detectors at the entrances to Rogers Centre. So leave your pocket knife at the hotel. I did not know this and we had to find a large plant to put the knife in before going through security. Fortunately, it was still there after the game.

After the game we met some friends that made it into town from Chicago. Had a couple drinks at the hotel bar and called it a night.

Went out of the country to see a Royals game and they lost big. Still had a great day. Thank you Canada!
