Not too much to report on these two days. Had tickets to the CMT Music Fest in Kitchener, ON. Checked into this older Holiday Inn that could use a little updating.

First day of the festival we got there in time to see the Brother’s Osbourne whine about the crowd. Not both of the brothers, just the lead singer. Then it rained and they kicked everyone out of the venue. Then it rained some more and they cancelled the rest of the show. Good news is that they did refund 1/2 of the price of the festival, minus the “convenience fees” of course.

Spent a VERY long time trying to catch an Uber back to the hotel. The only downfall from being in the VIP section. Otherwise, I would suggest spending the money if you can to get into the VIP section. Short bathroom and beer lines are well worth the $$$’s if you can do it.

The pleasant surprise for the second night of the concert was The Road Hammers! I had never heard of them before but they put on a great show. Score one for Canadian Country music.

And, of course Zac Brown Band put on a great show.

Also if you are in Kitchener I can highly recommend eating at Borealis. I had probably the best Bacon Mac & Cheese in my life at this place. Had a couple good beers from a decent list as well. I thought it would be a little uptight for my normal lunch, but that was not the case.

Milton’s is a decent restaurant across the parking lot from the Holiday Inn. Nothing fancy but works if the hotel restaurant is full. Good food, reasonable prices and open late.
