North Ten Mile Creek Trail
Thursday started with a great hike on the North Ten Mile Creek Trail just outside of Frisco. We didn’t get the earliest start and ended up with the last parking spot in the lot. It’s not a real small parking lot, but get there early since this is a heavily traveled trail. Here is some good information from All Trails.
It’s a pretty easy hike, a little steep at the beginning but it levels out some after a bit. There are many side trails off of the main one. Take as many of these as you have time for. All of the photos below are from the side trails. There are not that many close up views of the creek from the main trail.
All of the side trails are on the left hand side as you’re headed up the trail. Most are still very easy hikes. I did get into one on the way down that got pretty steep and dense. I may have even lost the side trail and just been walking through the woods on a steep incline, I’m not sure.
All photos taken from my phone, a Google Pixel 2. Only Photoshop adjustments were to levels and a slight S-Curve to add a little contrast.
We encountered a little light rain on the hike. It was a pretty warm morning, especially for the mountains so the light rain actually felt good. Overall, this is a great little beginners trail that most anyone should be able to make.
Lunch at Prosit
After the hike we went into Frisco and had lunch at Prosit on Main Street. We’ve seen this place many times but never stopped before. It’s pretty small and crowded at lunch but well worth stopping by. We kept lunch pretty simple just having a Bavarian Pretzel with the Liptauer cheese. This cheese is house made and tastes awesome. They also have several different mustards to try with the pretzel. I highly recommend the traditional German mustard. The beer on the left is a Stiegl. It’s from Austria and unfortunately I can’t find it anywhere near home. It’s a great lunch beer, light enough that the beer and pretzel didn’t bloat. That’s Vicki’s Bloody Mary on the right.
IPA Flight at Outer Range
After Prosit we killed some time driving around the lake, Dillon and Frisco. Eventually we ended up at Outer Range Brewing Company. We found out about Outer Range the day before. We had a great time at the brewery. I had an IPA flight and bought a 6-pack of the Beardance IPA to bring home. I found the environment and the beer to both be outstanding. All the IPA’s tasted pretty good to me. I only tried the IPA’s, I wasn’t really feeling like having any other type of beer that afternoon.

Dinner at Greco’s
After leaving the brewery and relaxing at the hotel for a while we decided to have dinner at Greco’s Pastaria. Good, not great Italian. I had the Chicken Parmesan and cannot complain. We also split a bottle of Allegrini Valpolicella which was actually at a pretty decent price. More than it costs at home, but not outrageous.
Overall, it was a very good day. A great hike, great lunch and a very fine dinner. I can’t complain.
