Overview:
Quick work trip to Dallas, TX February 6th through the 8th. Left KC and it was 10 with a windchill below 0. Dallas was kind of chilly as the front had passed through just before arrival. It was still in the forties with a lot of wind and off and on rain.

The Good:
No problems with Southwest flight in either direction. Early Bird got me B4 on the way down and B9 on the way back. B4 got me seat 15C and B9 was 20C, both with plenty of overhead bin space still available. Both flights were full, as normal.
Embassy Suites near The Galleria is very close to our Dallas office and has never given me a reason to try a different hotel when I’m in town. That holds true for this visit as well. The room was very clean.
Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill nearby also did not disappoint and is highly recommended. I will do a post on the food and beer on this trip in the near future.

The not-so good:
Not the friendliest employee when checking in, also had to wait a couple minutes. I think he was a manager with a lot going on. Didn’t really need to wait since I had checked in earlier with the Hilton app but I wanted my two free waters. There are no ice machines on the floors any more. You either have to go to the front desk or the bar to get ice. I just wanted a small glass of ice for a water and the front desk sent me to the bar. I don’t know if they charge for the ice at the front desk or not. I’ll need to find that out on my next trip.

Hotel Dinner and drinks:
I did enjoy a free beer with chips and salsa during their happy hour. Didn’t eat a full meal at the hotel but did have a couple pricey drinks after eating at the Flying Saucer nearby. A Bacardi and Coke is $6.50 plus tip and yes a double tall is $13.00. I didn’t sample any other beers or wine.

TV and Living Area:
Decent LCD tv like this one in the living area plus one in the bedroom area of the suite. Not a large amount of channels but they do have a decent selection to choose from. I don’t really watch that much tv when travelling other than having it on for background noise. Also notice a decent sized living area, there is a small work desk with the corner barely visible on the left. There is also a fridge and a microwave.

Bed:
The bed was very comfortable with good pillows. However, I could not sleep worth a darn either night for some reason.

AC:

Very quiet like an AC needs to be.

Shower:
It was a good not great shower. The water pressure was pretty good, plenty of hot water, shower head OK. Towels were excellent, oversized and very thick.
Bathroom:
Lighting was better than most hotels I’ve stayed in recently. There was also plenty of space on the vanity. The soap and the shampoo were just fine.

View from the room:
Not a great view of a cold, wet and windy Dallas. But much better than room 204. The first time I stayed at this hotel I was put in room 204. It has a view of nothing but the roof over the hotel entry. Do not stay in this room. The pic below is from room 317 with the reflection of the Embassy on the building across the parking lot.

Check-out:
No problem, dropped off key and gave them the room number. Receipt was emailed to me within minutes.
