Mimosa’s

Day 3 happened to fall on a Sunday. We were going to go to have brunch at McGuire’s Irish Pub but the line was ridiculous. So we went across the highway to Harbor Walk Village to see what we could find. After walking around for awhile on a rather cool and breezy morning we settled on Harry T’s. It’s a very large place and we were one of the first one’s there that morning. We were seated on the first floor, outside next to the water. I’d like to say the view was great but it was of a short body of water and then Norriego Point.

No worries though, so we started perusing the menu.  Vicki wanted a mimosa, and I decided I would join her. Well it turns out that bottomless mimosa’s can be had for less than the price of two mimosa’s! It’s Sunday late morning on vacation so it’s a fair bet that we would each have more than one. So two bottomless mimosa’s it is. They also brought out an awesome baked goods basket that we swore we wouldn’t eat (the four of us ate them all. The cinnamon rolls were excellent!

One member of our party fell ill and needed to go back to the condo. So now we are stuck here with bottomless mimosa’s for at least another hour. Thank goodness for the cinnamon rolls and the spot-on Seafood Omelette. Our ride makes it back within an hour and a half or so. Luckily, we ate a lot and were fairly calm with the mimosa’s, so it’s off to the next destination.

Margaritaville

We stopped by Margaritaville for a margarita and some gift shopping. Destin’s is not the best Margaritaville gift shop that we’ve been in. I think I only bought a sticker.

I always feel weird ordering a margarita at Margaritaville because I always ask for tequila that is not Margaritaville. If that makes any sense. I’m sorry but Jimmy’s tequila is aweful and always makes my head hurt the next day. Much better with Don Julio or Sauza.

Hog’s Breath

After wandering around the Harbor Walk for awhile we headed down road a little ways to Hog’s Breath. I’ve been to the Hog’s Breath in Key West several times and wanted to check this one out. The gift shop was surprisingly much larger than Margaritaville’s. Ended up leaving there with a couple stickers and a t-shirt. Went over to the restaurant after the shopping. The Hog’s Breath in Key West is a much better time. This one felt more like a local pub than the good time tourist place in Key West. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, I like to avoid the big chains as much as possible when travelling. But, I was expecting a vibe more like in Key West. Maybe if it was Friday or Saturday late afternoon to evening it would be more like what I was expecting.

World of Beer

Next stop the World of Beer. This place came highly recommended by one of Vicki’s co-worker’s. Supposedly they have good pretzels and Vicki loves pretzels.  It took forever to find a parking spot and once we finally did we had to walk a couple blocks through a downpour. But we made it, found a good table and ordered a couple beers and a huge pretzel.

Had a Hopadillo and enjoyed the pretzel. This place doesn’t have the highest reviews on Yelp, but I would definitely go back if in the neighborhood.

Spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the condo and headed to dinner at the Royal Palm next door. Had a decent dinner there and called it an early night.

Got up the next morning to head to the airport and return home.
